Freshly cleaned, polished, and set up with new Elixir, phosphor bronze, light gage strings. The fretboard has also been oiled. It has no wood cracks anywhere, or previous repairs of any kind. it’s been very well cared for throughout its 57 years. Beautiful condition 1969 D-28 with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Tone is incredible. Plays beautifully. Action is very good still. Original hardshell case in excellent condition as well. The guitar has a very nice patina with some small lacquer checking on the front left upper bout, and a couple of other small lacquer checking marks in a few places. It has pick scratches on the pick guard, which has been replaced at some point. There is slight wear around the wood at the sound hole from just being played and enjoyed. There are a couple of small dings under the bridge, a little left of center. See pictures. Two of the tuners have been replaced at some point as well. All are Grover’s but the 4 originals say Pat Pending on them. Frets are in good shape overall with some signs of wear, but nothing major. The tuners and fretboard, with no strings, can be seen in pictures as well. It has an under saddle, passive, piezo pick up installed with a quarter inch jack on the lower side. I don’t know the brand, it was already there when I purchased it. It sounds great, and amplifies clearly. I absolutely love the feel and sound of this guitar. It’s nothing short of an amazing Martin, with five and a half decades of mojo. Priced very fairly for this decade of Brazilian Rosewood D-28’s, in this nice of shape, so I’m not accepting offers.
