About this listing
DESCRIPTION:Nashville-built Flying V '67 Reissue, serial 82029716. Late July 1989, Nashville plant (500+ suffix). Cherry red. One of the earliest examples of the '67 Reissue series - production started in late 1989. Triangle knob layout, characteristic of the first-run instruments before Gibson switched to the inline configuration in the 1990s.Original Gibson hardshell case (made in Canada) included.Modifications:Neck pickup replaced with Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90. Soap bar format, drops into the original humbucker routing without modification. Fatter mids, more bite, less compressed than stock. Original Gibson neck humbucker is included, uninstalled. The headstock:Professionally repaired headstock break, purchased this way in 2010. Structurally stable for over a decade. Holds tune, neck geometry solid, no movement. Priced accordingly as a player-grade early '67 Reissue. How it's been used:I'm a bassist. This guitar lived in the studio as an ideas machine. Riffs, demos, writing. Currently strung .058, set up for Dropped C. My studio workflow changed, so this piece deserves to be played instead of sitting. Normal wear for a 35-year-old instrument. What's included:Gibson Flying V '67 Reissue 1989, cherry red, NashvilleSeymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90 (installed, neck position)Original Gibson neck humbucker (removed, included)Original Gibson hardshell case (made in Canada)More photos available on request.
