At the start of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, Moog made headlines by giving away its Minimoog Model D App for free, as a way for musicians to pass the time and stay creative.
Today, the company has announced another way to keep synth players motivated, with the launch of its Synthesize Live Instagram series.
Beginning tomorrow, March 28, and continuing through, well, an undetermined date, Synthesize Live will bring live-streamed performances and tutorials from the likes of Mike Dean, Lisa Bella Donna, and more.
You can watch each new stream in real-time on Moog's Instagram page. It kicks off with a live performance by Mike Dean at 9 pm EST tomorrow, using his array of Moog synths like the Moog One, Matriarch, Grandmother, and Minimoog Voyager. (If you've been following Dean's own Instagram in recent days, you'll know what to expect.)
The full schedule, as of now, is:
- Saturday, 3/28: Mike Dean
- Monday, 3/30: Lisa Bella Donna
- Wednesday, 4/1: Baseck
- Friday, 4/3: Patricia
- Sunday, 4/5: Darrell Freeman
- Tuesday 4/7: Lightbath
- Thursday, 4/9: Bana Haffar
- Many more TBA
