Up for sale is an original Mike Matthews Soul Kiss Talk Box, manufactured by New Sensor Corp., New York, dating from the early 1980s.

The Soul Kiss is a rare vintage talk box that appears only occasionally on the market. Its compact design makes it an interesting alternative to many traditional talk box systems while delivering the classic “talking guitar” effect.

How it works

The Soul Kiss is a classic electric talk box for guitar or keyboards. The amplified instrument signal is routed through an internal driver into the supplied plastic tube. By shaping the sound with the mouth, tongue and lips, the player creates the famous “talking” effect. A microphone placed in front of the mouth captures the sound and sends it to the PA or recording system.

Compact Design

Unlike many traditional talk box systems with bulky external driver assemblies, the Soul Kiss features a compact all-in-one design. It is easy to transport, quick to set up and ideal for studio, rehearsal or live performance.
