The unit is one rack-space high; three of them fit side-by-side on a rack tray. The pics tell the story, but other than velcro on the bottom (from a short period when I had this in a little-used gigging rack), the piece is pristine. The protective plastic has never been peeled from the power supply.

Unlike many of the other effects in Alesis' Micro series, parametric EQ hasn't changed since this machine was built. Reverb, gates, and limiters have all improved with the evolution of technology - but an EQ is still an EQ. This one is fully up to any modern application you might have for it.

For a guitar rig, it would make sense to put this at your amp for fine-tuning to particular rooms or guitars, rather than take up room on your pedalboard for an EQ that does less - and that you have to bend over to adjust.

Very generous specs, too: the three bands overlap with ranges of
• 20 Hz - 1 KHz,
• 250 Hz - 6 KHz, and
• 1.5 KHz to 20KHz.

You get 15 dB cut or boost in each band, with Q/emphasis/slope choices of 2 octaves or .5 octave, selectable per band.

The little fellers are not included.
