I got this pedal in 2024 and used it maybe two or three times, before I realized, that I actually do have better reverb pedals.

This pedal is ideal for anyone, who dreams of sounding pretentious without ever working a job that pays enough to buy the effects that all their favorite pretentious bands use. Yes, shimmer might have been fancy back in the late 80s and early 90s, but this is 2026. TC Electronic is owned by Behringer for fucks sake.

This is NOT a pedal for anyone who wants to impress the ladies or make their parents proud. This pedal will only impress people if the audience at your gigs are Instagram ambient artists (who are currently going through their tape loop hyperfixation period of autism), 17 year old shoegaze fans (add fuzz after for extra points) or your breadwinner roommates who support you no matter what you do.

This pedal doesn't have any other modes, a preset bank, knobs for pre-delay, decay and size or an LED display that would tell you what precise settings you got. It's got a gigantic knob that just screams REVERB at you in all caps. In fact, I'm surprised that there are even knobs to dial in the actual shimmer and tone.

The metal enclosure feels surprisingly high quality, which is odd, because every other Behringer product feels like it's encased in bootleg Tupperware. Mine has basically 0 cosmetic damage (or functional for that matter, because I haven't had the time to fuck it up).

This is a perfect pedal if you are in high school and just really need to satiate your craving for shimmer reverb, which you will inevitably regret acting upon once you turn 20. The pedal comes with the original silica gel packet, which you can use to poison yourself if your regrets of the music you've made with this pedal are bad enough (which is very likely).
