Gibson Firebird electric guitars are unmistakable thanks to their unique shape inspired by the design of 1960s cars. The 1965 Non-Reverse Firebird V w/ Maestro Vibrola VOS Vintage Sunburst is a historically authentic “reissue” model from the Gibson Custom Shop, which returns to the second version of the Firebird guitars from 1965 with a mirror-turned body design (non-reverse).

The body is carved from a single piece of mahogany and is decorated with a Vintage Sunburst color finish. The special VOS (Vintage Original Specs) finish gives the guitar an authentic look and feel of the originals. A rosewood fingerboard with twenty-two frets (Authentic Medium-Jumbo) is glued to the mahogany neck. Orientation on the surface of the fingerboard is facilitated by positioning dots made of imitation mother-of-pearl.

Two mini humbuckers offer a combination of the rock pressure of humbuckers and the clean, punchy tone of single-coils. Their character is absolutely universal, they can be used in a wide range of musical styles. Two volume potentiometers, two tone diaphragms and a three-position pickup switch are used for sound corrections. The strings are attached to the tuning machines and through the ABR-1 bridge in the Maestro Vibrola tremolo. The period authenticity is underlined by all the materials/components used and their workmanship.

The guitar is delivered in a case together with a certificate of authenticity.
