This Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt '59 Stratocaster Relic was built in 2025 by Andy Hicks, one of the most talented Masterbuilders in the Fender team. Inspired by the legendary 1959 models, this guitar captures all the mojo of the golden era with master-grade craftsmanship. The body is made of lightweight selected alder ("Sort for Lightweight") and finished in a stunning Vintage Blonde nitrocellulose lacquer with a relic treatment that authentically replicates years of natural wear. The neck is quarter sawn maple with a comfortable '59 Oval "C" profile, and it features a dark-sorted slab rosewood fretboard with a compound radius (9.5" to 12") and 6100 narrow tall frets. Rolled edges provide a silky-smooth playing experience. The electronics feature a complete set of Fender Custom Shop hand-wound Strat M.D. LTD pickups (neck, middle, and bridge), exclusive to the Masterbuilt series. The Strat Blender wiring offers great versatility with a 5-way switch, 250K pots, and a .10 cap, allowing a wide tonal palette—from classic vintage tones to modern sparkle and clarity. Vintage-style hardware includes a reliced Strat tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, and a mint green 3-ply '60s-style pickguard. The back plate is also reliced to match, and the neck plate is engraved with the Masterbuilt code R119. Includes the original Fender G&G black tolex case, strap, COA signed by Andy Hicks, shop floor traveler, tremolo arm, ashtray cover, and all original case candy.
