Here is an amazing instrument! A 1978 Gyula "Julius" Gido #222 Concert Classical Guitar -- This is like one of my little babies. It was handmade especially for me in 1978 and I've performed on it for decades. This guitar, owned by Glenn Tinturin, was made in Burbank, CA by a European Luthier who moved to the States. It has a German spruce soundboard (which Gido told me was cut and aged for over 90 years before he built the guitar for me), with Brazilian rosewood used to construct the back and sides. The back and sides are the original lacquer finish. However it developed two small cracks in the soundboard, so I had them repaired and then refinished the whole soundboard with French Polish by a professional luthier which made an amazing difference for the better. Many, many years ago the back had a crack which was repaired. The machine heads are ivory. Per The Guitar Salon International, "Gyula Gido was one of the best European-born Luthiers to live in the Los Angeles area during the 1960s and 1970s. He befriended the Romero family who played his guitars and on one occasion, built one in Gido's shop (Angel Romero, who was also one of my teachers). The quality of this instrument is superb, both in character of tone, volume, and sustain. The guitar is in very good "and is truly very special." You can listen to a brief sample of its sound on this YouTube demo (note, this is simply taken on an old iPhone. I'll make a newer video soon, if necessary):
