About This Listing

Here we have a very rare and cool piece of rock ‘n roll history ! This used early 1980’s Ludwig 24″ 6 ply maple shell bass drum comes from the private collection of Neal Smith of the original Alice Cooper Group. This bass drum was used to record two songs on Blue Oyster Cults guitarist Donald “Buck” Dharma solo album project called “Flat Out” recorded June 15,1982 at Boogie Hotel Studio, Long Island, NY. Neal played on two of the tracks on Buck’s album, one called “Born To Rock” and the other “That Summer Night”. Neal used two identical 24″ black Ludwig bass drums for this session, and this is one of them. Included in this sale will be a Certificate of Authenticity confirming its former ownership and serial number 2109167. There are signs of wear, usage and age on this drum so please view our photos carefully and consider them part of the overall description.
