Orsonic (Monster Cable) DS-250 Disc Stabilizer up for sale.
Just came out of storage from an audiophile’s collection. See my listings for other items.
This disc stabilizer is unique, because it locks around the spindle of your turntable. Many disc stabilizers from other manufacturers do not have a lock and work just applying weight onto your record. Therefore some disc stabilizers should not be used on belt drive turntables due to excessive weight and strain.
But the ORSONIC DS-250 can be used on any turntable (belt, idler or direct drive) and it is very effective. You don't have to worry about pressure on your turntable bearings or excessive weight for your platter and belt drive. Simply lock the ORSONIC DS-250 around your spindle. The silver surface on top of the stabilizer is actually a button. You push the button before you place DS-250 on the platter, then add some pressure to flatten out your records, when you remove your finger from the button the Disc Stabilizer will be locked around your turntable spindle.
Weight: Roughly 244-248g
See photos for quality, there is a slight scratch and the letter “T” in stabilizer has lost its tail. Overall good condition for 30-40 years of age!
Orsonic is a Japanese brand that designed amazing headshells and disc stabilizers in the 70's and early 80's for audiophiles.
