I am selling my vintage cornet set, which includes a case. The cornet is a Couesnon, manufactured in 1929 - a product of a legendary French instrument maker. The instrument has undergone a complete overhaul and is in good playing condition; the valves and slides are all functional. It features its original parts. There are no major dents or scratches, though there are signs of wear consistent with its age - the instrument is nearly 100 years old. The nickel plating is partially damaged; however, restoring the plating was not the goal, as doing so would have compromised its vintage character. The condition of the instrument is described in the photos and video. The cornet has an appearance appropriate for its age and is in a playable condition consistent with its age.
I made a vintage wooden instrument case for this cornet myself. I have an original box that is over 100 years old, and I made a vintage instrument case based on its appearance and dimensions. The material for the instrument case comes from about 100-year-old wardrobe shelves. To achieve the vintage look, I used nails to make the box, tinted the exterior with old-fashion stain, and waxed it with antique furniture wax. All traces of history have been preserved on the surface of the wood.
The instrument also comes with an vintage mouthpiec. A great vintage set with a properly playing cornet.
