For sale: DIY-RACKED MQ5 Sontec Clone Mastering EQ
Unit is build by LONGSTREAMANALOG (Me) and is from my private setup.
It is fully functional and served me well over the last couple of years.
The only issue it has is that is that the stop pin on the Right Mid band frequency selector is on click of. (Hence the price)
Does not matter for the sound, only when that spot is selected, the band simply goes flat again.
(It is repairable but to much work for me at this point. The front panels and knobs need to get of to fix it. Not very complicated but takes a lot of time.)
Overal it is in an excellent state.
Does Stereo and Mid/Side
Original Sifam Knobs
Discrete OpAmps are Neuman style OA10, which are nice balanced and neutral, but not cold and sterile.
These can be changed to other 2520 footprint DOA's. Bare in mind though that they should be able to run on 24V (Not 16 like a lot of API style 2520 DOA's)
If interested: I also have pairs of Hairball JE990 or ING APP992 that can handle the 24 volts, that would also be good options for this unit. (I preffered the Neuman clones)
Don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
Cheers, Niels (LongstreamAnalog)
