The Solid State Logic XLogic Channel brings a complete XL 9000 channel strip into a single rack unit, offering the classic SSL workflow of input stage, dynamics, filters and four-band EQ in one precise recording and mixing tool. It is designed for engineers who want the control and speed of a large-format SSL console, but in an outboard format that can sit directly in a tracking chain or mix insert.

The input section offers rear and front XLR inputs for microphone or line sources, plus a dedicated high-impedance instrument jack on the front panel. Gain is stepped from +6 dB to +72 dB, with 18 dB pad, Hi-Z option, 48 V phantom power and polarity reverse. The result is a clean, wide-band SSL front end with excellent headroom and very low distortion.

The dynamics section includes a compressor/limiter and expander/gate, with flexible routing, external key input, link capability and the possibility to place the EQ and filters in the dynamics sidechain. The compressor offers RMS or peak detection, variable ratio up to limiting, threshold, release and fast attack, while the gate can also operate as a 2:1 expander.

For tone shaping, the XLogic Channel includes the SSL four-band EQ with selectable G Series and E Series characteristics, giving a choice between broader modern curves and more classic constant-bandwidth behaviour. The HF and LF bands can operate as bell or shelving filters, while the two mid bands are fully parametric. Separate high-pass and low-pass filters add precise cleanup before or after dynamics, or directly in the sidechain.
