About this listing
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION, SEE PICS For sale is an AKAI GX 4000D 7 inch 4 track 2 channel stereo Reel to Reel tape deck recorder. It is in very good condition albeit with some scuffs and marks as shown and a chip on one of the wooden panels. Refer to pics. It has been tested, serviced, calibrated and the heads were cleaned and demagnetized for the best sound ever. The mic inputs were tested and they work as well as the other inputs. The pots and switches were sprayed and the metal parts were lubed as well. Both channels are clear and superb sounding as well. The belts and caps were checked and they’re good. All the functions work and the VU Meters light up and jump like they are supposed to. The sound when recording at 3 3/4 IPS is very clear and better and wider sounding than the Source recording from, depending on the type of tape used and better at 7 1/2 IPS (with the speed sleeve) . The price is $549.99 ! REELS ARE FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT INCLUDED! Please keep in mind a lot of work and testing was done to ensure this deck works properly so it will NOT be cheap! Purchase at full price and I will include several tapes to get started! Here are the specifications:Track system: 4-track 2-channel, stereo systemHeads: 1 x record, 1 x playback, 1 x eraseMotor : 1 x capstan, Reel size: up to 7 inch reelTape speeds: 7 1/2 and 3 3/4 ipsWow and flutter: 0.08% (7 1/2 IPS)Frequency response: 40Hz to 24kHz (7 1/2 IPS )Signal to Noise Ratio: 60dBCrosstalk: 35dB NOTE:I’m going to keep this short and sweet and straight to the point:I’ve been doing vintage audio reel to reel deck for 22 years. All of these units are priced accordingly based on how much I sold them for in the past, how it costs to source them, the cost of parts, the amount of time, labor, and sometimes money put into repairing and restoring them as well as extensive testing to ensure they arrive working like they should to the new buyer. I put up a lot of time taking good pictures of them and videos to show you that they work like they should and I spent a HUGE amount of my time Packing them for safe shipment.I am MORE THAN WILLING to listen to reasonable offers if you would like to negotiate on the price. That is what the MAKE OFFER button is for!! However, I am NOT looking to give this away “for cheap”. Unfortunately, I’ve had people who don’t have the means to purchase these units, but add them to their watchlist or shopping cart anyways (which a couple people blatantly admitted) as well as those who admitted to adding this to their watch list holding for a price reduction Which is essentially trying to get me to negotiate against myself. That kind of behavior is unacceptable. This is an online e-commerce store, NOT a museum, an art exhibit or a playground. This is how I pay the bills, put food on the table, and source more of these great units for the generations to come.If this is not in your budget, despite my willingness to negotiate on the price, PLEASE RESPECTFULLY PASS on this listing! There are plenty of other options out there!
