Vintage Neumann KMS 84i Handheld Condenser Microphone. New Body. KMS84 KMS 84 KM.

This vintage Neumann KMS 84i works very well. It has a NOS body/electronics, so most of the microphone is new. The head houses a Neumann KK85 capsule. This is the same capsule found in KM85 microphones. Its identical to KM84 capsule but with a built in gentle bass roll off, to reduce proximity effect when used close to the sources.

This microphone was originally designed to be a handheld microphone but it can easily be used to capture instruments as well. While the extra housing works as a filter and prevents singers from touching the capsule, the grill can be easily screwed off, exposing the capsule for a more transparent sound, like KM84 microphones.

This microphone sounds great and works perfectly well. It comes with a DPA soft case and a Schoeps clip.
