Eko Kiwi Black (1970s, Made in Italy)

Up for sale is this early 1970s Eko Kiwi, made in Italy during the golden era of Eko production in Recanati. A lightweight and extremely comfortable guitar with plenty of vintage Italian character.

This example remains largely original and is in excellent overall condition. It has been refretted in the past and the frets are still in great shape with plenty of life left. The original plastic switch tip has been replaced with a Telecaster-style tip, while the rest of the instrument retains its original specifications. The original bridge cover is also included.

The three-piece neck feels solid and comfortable, and the guitar plays well all the way up and down the fretboard with no issues. One of the standout features are the pickups, which delivers a rich, punchy voice reminiscent of a great vintage P-90: clear and articulate on clean settings, with plenty of midrange presence and bite when pushed into overdrive. It has that raw, direct character that works equally well for blues, garage rock, early rock 'n' roll and indie tones.

Cosmetically, the guitar is in excellent condition for its age, showing only normal signs of use including some light surface scratches, small nicks and dings here and there.

Comes in a non-original hardshell case and will be carefully packed for safe shipping.
