The Pioneer CT-F1000 is the cassette deck that challenged the Nakamichi 1000 II at less than half its price — and Pioneer made no bones about saying so in their advertising. This 3-head system with belt-driven dual-capstan transport was considered best in class upon release, and remains an exceptional machine for cassette enthusiasts today.

The record and playback heads are cut from a single Uni-Crystal ferrite instead of the usual ferrite grains — a Pioneer exclusive offering near-eternal lifespan and superior frequency response. The 3-head system enables real-time off-tape monitoring: you hear what's actually being recorded on the tape, with separate Dolby B and C circuits for recording and playback.

Features are studio-worthy: playback pitch control, front-panel 400 Hz test tone for bias calibration, MPX filter for FM recording, mic/line mixing, memory stop, auto-cue, solenoid-operated full-logic transport controls, and analog VU meters among the most beautiful and responsive ever fitted to a cassette deck. Faceplate machined to EIA standard dimensions for professional rack mounting.
