Bonanza Homestead Baritone 2022

I’m parting with my Bonanza Homestead Series Baritone (Build #923), and it’s a bittersweet one. As many of you know, Pete Mai recently retired and stopped making these gems, so they’re getting pretty hard to find - especially here in Europe.

This instrument was built in 2022 from beautiful Walnut. It has that lovely, earthy "thump" you want from a baritone, but because of the unique hollowed-out "clamshell" design Pete is famous for, it’s incredibly light and resonant.

This one came directly from Pete's workshop with two upgrades:

Gotoh Planetary Tuners: Pete installed these himself. They look old-school but have high-tech gears inside, so they’re rock-solid and smooth as butter.

Original Bonanza Hardshell Case: This is the original case from the Bonanza shop, ensuring a perfect fit and maximum protection.

I’ve used this as a "player’s" instrument, so it has some honest signs of use:

Neck marks: There are two visible marks on the back of the neck, likely from where a capo was used (see photos). You don't really feel them while playing, but they are there.

General wear: The rest is just typical light playing wear from a well-loved instrument.

Overall, it's still in solid shape, sounds great, and is structurally 100% perfect.
