The Technics SL-1500 is a legendary turntable that embodies a revolutionary approach to direct-drive turntable design. Produced between 1975 and 1977, it represents the democratization of direct-drive technology invented by Technics/Panasonic in the late 1960s.

The genius of the SL-1500 lies in its simplified mechanical construction without compromising performance: the motor rotor is integrated directly into the platter, forming the only moving part in the system.
