Widely regarded as the first commercially available solid body electric guitar, the Fender Telecaster had it's beginnings a whopping 75 years ago, fundamentally changing the course of music forever. With it's lack of feedback associated with hollowbody guitars, easy repairability, and that unmistakeable twangy tone, the Fender Tele was an undeniable success. The fact that 75 years later this same iconic shape is still as popular as ever is truly a testament to what makes it great.
There are countless renditions based on the Tele as it's such a fundamental guitar for building upon and in 2007, Mike Eldred of the Fender Custom Shop did just that. Borrowing inspiration from custom motorcycles, the Cabronita uses parts from different brands under the Fender family tree to create an edgier, more aggressive style Tele that went against the grain.
