Kay? Kk
Kays have always been cool. McCartney, Clapton and even Elvis played them as well as countless country-bluesmen like Lightnin' Hopkins.
Here is a rather rare 1970s Japanese Kay Deluxe Dreadnought. It has a laminate spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and brass frets. These are bolt-on necks like the Eko and Vox acoustics of the era making them easily adjustable. It is in remarkable condition given it's rarity. The neck is straight and the frets are good. Tuners are like new. No lifting or bulging in the body. Minimal wear (see pics). The action is a bit high at the 12th fret but easily adjustable with a shim and lighter strings. Tuners are like new. This guitar looks to have been hardly played. All original. 25.5" scale. The sound is mid-range with good projection. A very unique, quality, hand-built, vintage guitar.
