This is a highly unusual and rare instrument made by Favilla and custom ordered by the American musician and poet Dale Wimbrow. It’s a 6 string concert ukulele that uses the standard uke tuning, only doubling the C and the A. The craftsmanship is truly remarkable. Even with the doubled strings on the C and A, the string spacing evens at the bridge. It’s constructed entirely out Mahogany aside from the tuners. Very few of these were made between 1930 and 1933. They were produced in small batches and were typically bought entirely by Dale Wimbrow himself to give out as gifts to other musicians and friends. These seldom appear for sale and would make a great addition to any instrument, ukulele, or oddity collection.

The Favilla family has very rich history in fine instrument building that goes back to Italy. Brothers John and Joseph emigrated to New York in the early 1890s and quickly made a name for themselves building fine string instruments.

The neck is straight and the frets are in great shape aside from needing a good polish. There are no cracks, repairs, or modifications. This is all original with the original case. This appears to still have the original strings and will need a good setup and cleaning.
