The Synergy IICP Module is designed as a tribute to a highly regarded guitar amplifier. Despite ongoing advancements in modern amplifiers, the original Mark series amp that this module emulates remains a much sought after and frequently discussed piece of guitar equipment.

Steve Fryette, a key figure in the development of Synergy systems, was invited to design this module due to his extensive experience with the original amplifier. In the early days of boutique amp development, Fryette worked at Valley Arts Guitars in Los Angeles, a central hub for high-performance guitar and amplifier knowledge. This provided him with direct exposure to the evolution of this influential amplifier. His deep understanding and dedication to accuracy were crucial in the creation of the IICP module.

The Synergy IICP module is a dual channel tube preamp. It replicates the Fullerton-inspired clean tones and the characteristic mid-saturated overdrive of the original amplifier. The dual-channel design allows for immediate switching between these well-regarded sounds, prominent in hard rock music. The module includes the brite and shift controls found on the original, as well as a switchable 5-band EQ. The IICP module offers a wide range of sounds, from strong low-end tones to clear harmonics, all within a convenient, all-tube module format.

For those familiar with vintage Mark series amplifiers, the Synergy IICP preamp module aims to accurately reproduce the sonic characteristics.

A notable feature is the Cathode Select function. While many newer Synergy modules have a 3-position switch for configuring the input tubes' response, the IICP module operates differently. It automatically selects between two profiles specifically tailored to match the intended performance of each channel. This ensures that each channel delivers the feel and tonal balance associated with the amplifier it is based on.
