The Sparrow MKII ADC ensures optimal conversion, using Black Lion Audio's custom technology to ensure supreme signal integrity. This white version employs TWO converters in a parallel-balanced circuit to drastically boost converter dynamic range Once you track with it, you’ll find other converters sound hard, processed, or lifeless. Use it for mastering, two-track classical or jazz recordings, final mixes, or whatever application your studio needs.

Full Description Mastering-Grade Conversion

The Black Lion Audio White Sparrow MKII ADC features a complete re-design, based on the original White Sparrow ADC. The two-channel analog-to-digital converter delivers mastering-grade audio at an affordable price. The White Sparrow MKII features sampling rates ranging from 44.1kHz – 192kHz ideal for a range of applications. The integrated clocking architecture features low jitter and wide Q third harmonic crystal oscillators for optimal signal integrity and performance. When it comes to high-quality conversion, the process requires lots of current movement which can result in unwanted artifacts and noise. The White Sparrow MKII combats this with the unique circuit design and custom technology. The result is a high-headroom analog stage that will capture even the smallest nuances in immense detail.

Versatile Connectivity

The White Sparrow MKII includes both XLR and ¼” balanced inputs as well as a range of other analog and digital connectivity. In addition to the balanced inputs, the converter features AES, coaxial S/PDIF and optical S/PDIF digital outputs. World clock I/O is also included for connecting to an external clock device. The converter itself can accommodate nominal input signal level ranging from +11dBu down to -10dBV. The input even features a user selectable 110/220 voltage input. The user input level is selectable and can be calibrated to your own requirements.

Vintage-Style Controls

The re-designed White Sparrow MKII features a retro-style controls on the front panel including rotary style controls for frequency selection, channel selection as well as input calibration for both channels. The front-panel even features LED metering, giving you a quick and easy way to monitor your signals at a glance. The highly robust yet compact construction takes up to 1U high, 1/2 rack space with its all-metal chassis. The rear of the unit features combination balanced inputs for both XLR and ¼” devices.
