A year before Gene Baker founded B3 Guitars, he built his custom guitars under his own name. Gene had a storied history in both the Gibson and Fender custom shops before striking out on his own and building instruments that were in the forefront of the boutique electric guitar movement.
This BJ Select from 2002 boasts spectacular Honey Burst-finished flame maple on top of a mahogany body. The double cutaway design grants easy access to all 22 frets while the 12" rosewood fretboard and C-shaped mahogany neck offer a familiar, comfortable feel. In terms of tuning stability, the Sperzel locking tuners and 'The Point Classic' tremolo bridge make sure that it's always ready for action.
A previous owner has replaced the original knobs and potmeters, which are still included in the case. The two humbuckers can now be controlled with a volume and two tones of which one has a push/pull function to split both humbuckers. And while it has its fair share of playwear and dings, these are signs that it has been used well so this BJ Select is still in very good condition.
