Old Blood Noise Endeavors Float V2 Dual Filter Pedal (Blue)
This listing is for the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Float V2, a pair of filters designed to make you fall in love with filtering. It can do the classic envelope filter auto-wah type of sound and create effects similar to other classics like tremolo or phase shifting. But it wants to stretch out from there: more random motions, enveloping LFOs, things out of sync or in sync and out of phase. Float uses analog state variable filters (2-pole, 12dB/octave) built around the SSI2164 chip, which keep their low end as resonance is turned up.
Each filter has its own control set: Cutoff, Res, Vol, Filter Type (seven combinations of low pass, band pass, and high pass), Shape, Depth, Rate, and Sens. Sens moves the cutoff, or the LFO rate when the LFO is active, with the strength of your signal. The Sync button links the motion of Filter 2 to Filter 1, and holding it engages hard sync. Each filter has its own footswitch, and the Aux footswitch handles tap tempo or preset switching across three onboard presets. Float can be routed as parallel mono, mono-in-stereo-out, stereo, or series mono, and also offers an expression jack that can control any combination of knobs, MIDI in and out, and USB-C for firmware updates.
