Ibanez DCL Digital Stereo Chorus
The DCL is a rare vintage digital chorus, made in Japan around 1985–1986 and part of the Ibanez Master Series. It was one of Ibanez’s earliest digital chorus pedals, designed to offer a cleaner, brighter and more precise sound than the analog choruses of the time, with true stereo output. Its controls allow adjustment of speed, depth and delay time, the latter providing greater flexibility, from subtle chorus effects to more pronounced modulation, even approaching vibrato. Contemporary reviews described it as a clear and musical chorus with a strong stereo image, although slightly less warm than some analog models. It is particularly well suited to ’80s tones, arpeggios, clean sounds and stereo textures, and also works very well when placed after a distortion pedal. Made in Japan, it is now relatively rare and sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of vintage Ibanez pedals and early digital effects.
