About this listing
Up for sale, a 2016 Gibson Custom Shop True Historic 1957 Les Paul Goldtop “R7”, showroom-clean and complete with the original hardshell case, CoA, and all hangtags. From the short-lived True Historic line, these instruments represent the peak of Gibson craftsmanship: from chemically recreated plastics to double-carved deep-dish tops with thinner lacquer finishes, wet-sanded by hand, every element of a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop has been rendered in unbelievable detail.Weighing 8lbs 10oz, this R7 pairs a solid, non-weight-relieved one-piece mahogany body and carved maple top with a one-piece mahogany neck, yielding a lively and pronounced acoustic voice with plenty of punch, detail, and sustain. The pair of CustomBucker PAF pickups, Gibson’s highly praised PAF iteration with Alnico III magnets, translate that natural character faithfully, with power and bark at the bridge and thick, woody tones at the neck that are perfect for fat leads. This True Historic 1957 Les Paul Goldtop has been professionally set up here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.Neck Specs:Wood: MahoganyShape: ‘50s Rounded C, measuring .895” 1st fret, .965” 12th fretFretboard: Indian rosewood, cellulose trapezoid inlayFrets: Medium jumbo, no wearScale Length: 24 3/4”Nut: 1 11/16”, nylonTuners: Kluson Deluxe single-lineSerialization: 7 6-prefix (1957, 2016), inkedBody Specs:Wood: Maple, mahoganyPickups: CustomBucker PAF x2Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, three-way pickup selectorHarness: Bumblebee caps, “R7” stamp in cavity cornerHardware: No-wire ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum stopbarPlastics: One-ply cream pickguard with “Gibson Custom” sticker, gold bonnet knobsThe gloss Goldtop nitro lacquer finish is exceptionally clean, with barely a mark on the body.
