Fender Custom Shop 2023 Limited Edition 1962 Precision Bass Relic Aged Black -2023- We have received a used 1962 Precision Bass from the 2023 Limited Edition series. The Precision Bass was born in late 1951 as the worldfs first electric bass. At a time when acoustic basses were the norm, it featured a 34-inch scale neck, a solid body, and 20 frets, and quickly gained popularity in the market. This model recreates the 1962 Precision Bass, which underwent numerous specification changes, featuring a two-piece alder body, a quarter-sawn maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The headstock features "Fender PRECISION BASS" and limited edition decals, and vintage-style tuning machines are used. The neck, featuring clay dot position markers just like the vintage models, is equipped with a slab-style rosewood fingerboard, 20 gMedium Jumbo/6150h frets, and a 7.25h fingerboard radius, with a standard g60 P-BASS OVAL eCfh profile. It is equipped with a hand-wound "HW 62 P-BASS REL" pickup and features a 1-volume/1-tone control setup. The finish is "Aged Black," which recreates the aged appearance of black?one of the custom colors of the era?and the pickguard is made of 4-ply tortoiseshell. Combined with the relic finish, this creates a beautiful instrument with a cool, elegant vintage look. It has been well-maintained and is in excellent condition, with no scratches other than the relic finish. Approximately 90% of the frets remain, and the truss rod turns 60 degrees in both directions, ensuring it is in perfect working order.
