This analog tube preamp was developed in collaboration with Dr. Z Amplification, which is based in Ohio?the same state as EQD. In addition to Dr. Zfs signature crisp highs, open sound, and fast response, the crunch (overdrive)?which boosts the warm sound of the EF86 tube across the full frequency range?delivers excellent string separation and rich harmonics.

The controls are extremely simple. The main preamp section features Level and an analog 3-band EQ. The only additional control is the Boost knob. When Boost is engaged, the 3-band EQ is bypassed, and the tube is driven to function as a full-range booster.

The ZEQD-Pre is designed to be placed at the end of your pedalboard and is intended for live use.

Suitable for a wide range of settings
You can connect directly to an amp for live performances or send a balanced signal from the DI output to a mixing console.
In music production settings or at home, you can connect it to an audio interface, or use the headphone output to practice anytime with the best tube sound without disturbing those around you.
Power Supply
Uses a standard 9V 500mA DC adapter, such as those used for typical effects pedals. Internally, the 9V is stepped up to 200V to ensure ample headroom and full-range response.

It shows minimal signs of use and is in relatively good condition.
There are currently no operational issues.
