A 2005 Hollow Body II in Whale Blue has arrived!
The PRS Hollowbody II is a popular model that combines the rich resonance unique to hollow-body guitars with PRSfs signature playability.
First and foremost, its astonishingly light weight of 2.51 kg is worth noting. Itfs significantly lighter than a typical electric guitar, making it a major draw for its reduced physical strain during long playing sessions and live performances. The lightweight, comfortable feel unique to the hollow-body construction is so pleasant that once you pick it up, you wonft want to put it down.
The mahogany neck and East Indian rosewood fingerboard deliver the smooth playing feel characteristic of PRS. The Wide Fat neck profile offers just the right amount of thickness, supporting stable fingering from chord work to lead playing.
In terms of sound, the rich, natural resonance unique to the Hollowbody II is particularly impressive. While it has a resonant, acoustic quality, the tone remains well-defined; itfs full-bodied yet features a sound character with just the right focus on the midrange. As a result, itfs not merely sweet and soft?it offers a well-balanced sound that easily asserts its presence within a band ensemble.
The McCarty Archtop pickups handle a wide range of styles, from jazz and blues to clean tones and crunch sounds. The front pickup delivers a warm, lustrous tone, while the rear pickup offers a sound with just the right amount of projection and a solid core; the natural airiness provided by the hollow-body construction is also a major attraction.
Furthermore, the excellent vibration transmission provided by the Straight Stoptail bridge is not to be overlooked. In addition to the open resonance unique to hollow-body guitars, it firmly ensures the sustain and tonal cohesion characteristic of PRS. Meanwhile, the use of ebony buttons on the tuning pegs is another key feature, as it eliminates any sense of mechanical harshness.
With its Faded Whale Blue finish?no longer available as a new model?its overwhelmingly light weight, and a sound that combines richness with a solid midrange core, this instrument represents a high-level fusion of the premium tone of a semi-acoustic or full-acoustic guitar with the playability of a solid-body guitar.
There is a slight overall cloudiness to the finish, and it shows some signs of use; however, it has been fully reconditioned at our repair center and is in perfect playing condition.
