Yoshiyuki Kikuchi, who founded ATELIER Z in 1990, studied techniques under Roger Sadowsky at Sadowsky NYC in 1993, and learned fretwork from John Suhr while in the US, acquiring a wide range of setup techniques, served as the general manager of the highly acclaimed Japanese-made Sadowsky after returning to Japan. This archtop model is from "Kikuchi Guitars," a brand established to create instruments utilizing all of Mr. Kikuchi's accumulated knowledge and know-how in producing those guitars and basses.

This "JF16" model is a slightly thin-bodied 16-inch full-acoustic model. The body is made of Imbuia Burl, specially produced for limited production, and features a maple neck and ebony fingerboard. The bridge and tailpiece, 24 3/4-inch scale, and slightly wider, thinner, easy-to-play neck all contribute to a simple yet sophisticated design, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship and high precision.
