Built upon the legacy of the DW series, which debuted in 1985, the modwave has evolved into a modern-day monster synth. It features incredibly deep wavetable oscillators, luxurious filters, wild and flexible modulation, unparalleled polyphony, a comprehensive pattern sequencer, and an intuitive control system.

And now, Korg has created the module as a new form of the modwave. This model supports MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange and Poly Aftertouch, and boasts excellent compatibility with Keystage. The new 19-inch rack-mountable chassis offers the same controls as the keyboard-equipped model while remaining easily portable, fitting neatly into any studio or desktop production setup.

60-voice polyphony, updated LFOs, and more
Like the modwave mkII, the modwave module delivers an impressive 60 stereo voices?nearly double the 32 voices of the original modwave. The new 19-inch rackmount chassis offers the same control options as the keyboard-equipped model, yet is easily portable and fits neatly into any studio or desktop production system.

In response to user requests, wefve added free-run, delay-start, and retrigger options to all LFOs. Wefve also added a pre/post switch for the reverb send and new modulation sources. A software update will also be available for the original modwave.

The modwave module is fully compatible with the sounds and samples from the original modwave, modwave mk II, and modwave native software, as well as many excellent third-party libraries.
