BC Rich Mick Thomson M7 Black Signature Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a BC Rich Mick Thomson 7 (M7) electric guitar in Black finish. Signature model for the Slipknot rhythm guitarist, Mick Thomson helped reinvigorate the relevance of BC Rich in the early 2000s when he took his Warlock on tour during the peak of their fame & notoriety. The Warlock became a guitar that many guitarists wanted, and as such, BC Rich produced lots of more affordable versions of the Custom Shop guitars Thomson was playing with Slipknot. 

A bolt on construction is employed, and comprises a Mahogany body, Hard Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard, with block 'Hate' inlay at the 12th fret. Black hardware is fitted including a BC Rich Quadmatic hardtail bridge & sealed tuning machines. A pair of BC Rich Special Design humbucking pickups are installed and are wired to a 3-way blade switch & master volume control. 

The Hard Maple neck plays well, with a profile which might be described as a a shallow D shape, well suited to the heavy technical riffing Thomson is known for. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with it's jumbo frets & XX" radius is practical for both rhythm parts & lead playing alike. The dual cutaway body design enhances access to the upper frets, opening up the full register of the instrument. 

Amplified, the pair of BC Rich Special Design humbucking pickups deliver huge, saturated crushing tones that will fill out any mix for a dense & aggressive sound. The bridge pickup is bright & powerful, cutting through with ease to put your riffing front and centre. The neck position is of course rounder & works well for melodic lines & soloing. The controls are kept as simple as possible to allow you to focus on playing. That said, the volume control is nicely responsive to allow you to dial in tones with ease.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. On the inside edge of the two headstock points mild to moderate chipping is present, with some material missing. This is more notable on the bass side. The front face demonstrates light scratching throughout, with light chipping and indentation to the two top horns. A very small chip is present to the front face beside the treble side of the nut, lightly revealing the wood beneath. 

Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentation to the rear of the neck is present throughout, but is most notable behind the 6th fret. The fingerboard shows light scratching under close scrutiny. 

Body: Overall very good condition. The front face and rear face demonstrate light scratching and indentation throughout, only visible under direct light at certain angles. A moderate scratch is apparent to the treble side of the bridge pickup. The horn tips of the bottom cutaway demonstrate scuffing and indentation, with the wood beneath revealed in a small area at the treble side. The rear face treble side edge demonstrates scuffing and scratching of the finish at the body contour, with evidence of a finish repair to an acceptable standard, only apparent under close inspection. The sides of the instrument show light scratching and scattered indentation. 

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Light flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register. There is light material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and good condition. Light scratching and tarnishing is apparent to the tuners and bridge. The bridge is tilting forward slightly but does not affect performance or playability.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
