EHX has transplanted technology found in keyboard and modular synthesizers into a pedal designed for guitarists and bassists. While the modulation of a typical envelope filter is controlled by the attack of the guitar, the Blurst's filter is modulated by an internal low-frequency oscillator (LFO), similar to a tremolo or phaser. Adding an expression pedal or voltage control (CV) source to the Blurst provides even greater control over the LFO or filter itself. The Blurst's all-analog signal path contains a variable-resonance, fourth-order low-pass filter. The basic modulation is controlled via a variable internal LFO with a choice of three waveforms. Modulation (including the LFO itself) is digitally controlled, allowing for tap tempo (with three split options) and expression pedal control of three selectable parameters. These features greatly increase the variety of filtered sounds you can generate with the Blurst.
Analog low-pass filter with adjustable resonance
Three modulation waveforms: Triangle, rising and falling sawtooth
Modulation rate is set with the rate knob or by combining footswitch tap and tap divide to create triplets, dotted octaves, or quadruplets
Three modes: EXP, Range, Rate, and Filter, controlled by an expression pedal or a voltage-controlled source such as the EHX 8 Step Program
The Range knob sets the filter's modulation frequency range, while Blend adjusts the dry/filtered signal mix
Includes an EHX 9.6 DC 200mA power supply
Dimensions: 70 x 115 x H54mm
