Loved by rock 'n' roll legends for decades, the original SG Special embodied simplicity, versatility, and an overwhelming tone. This historic recreation faithfully reproduces the beloved vintage original while offering the modern playability and reliability unique to the Gibson Custom Shop.

This model features authentic profiles, specifications, and construction methods, delivering an unparalleled playing and ownership experience. It also features an gUltra-Light Agingh finish applied by the skilled craftsmen at Murphy Lab.The combination of Murphy Labfs Ultra-Light Aging finish and lightly aged hardware masterfully recreates the subtle signs of decades of use, capturing the unique character, atmosphere, and feel of the original models born during Gibsonfs golden age.

The body and neck are crafted from solid mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard, and the construction replicates vintage Gibson methods, including the use of animal glue, a tube truss rod, and long tenon joints.

Positioned as a mid-range model between the Standard and Junior, this model features simple specifications such as the Gibson logo on the headstock and Kluson triple-button tuners. The bound neck, adorned with dot position marks, features a slim, easy-to-grip "Medium C" neck profile.

Equipped with two "Custom Soapbar P-90" pickups, the guitar features a 2-Vol/2-Tone/3-Way Selector control system, and incorporates CTS pots
and Luxe Bumblebee replica capacitors, faithfully reproducing the sound of vintage Gibson guitars.

The finish is "Classic White," which recreates the slightly weathered look of the original Polaris White custom color, and has been treated with Murphy Lab's Ultra Light Aged finish.

Regarding the condition of this instrument, it shows significant signs of use, including numerous scratches, dents, and paint chips; however, it functions perfectly. The frets have approximately 70% life remaining, and we have confirmed that the truss rod turns 60 degrees in both directions.
