Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a 1970's era AKG model D320B dynamic "hyper" cardioid microphone made in Austria with outstanding sound characteristics and easily on par with most great dynamic super cardioid microphones you could possibly think of. I would actually compare the sound to be on par with (or better than) an American made Shure SM58 or as good as an Electro voice RE16 microphone. If you have never heard one of these before...be prepared to be blown away by the warm smooth tone.

This mic comes with the original mic clip & case shown.

Pic # 2 is from an old AKG catalog showing this model in a couple different variants. The upgraded D330BT model had both the bass drop off switch and the presence drop off switch making it a very sophisticated, high quality mic. The D320B has just the adjustable bass drop off switch with 3 selections to choose from and it works perfectly.

The D330BT was actually called "The SM58 killer" as AKG was trying to outperform the American made classic and they did just that. The D320B is basically the same mic but without the presence switch.

This mic has a very modern mid century design that was a bit on the outrageous side especially with the gold tone but the mic is built like a tank and these hold up very well.

As you can see there is typical lite wear on the stock painted finish of this mic but it's free of any dents or fractures. Just a lite scuff marks, paint wear and tiny scratches. The front screen is metal and has an uber modern / contemporary look. There is lite tarnish and a couple very subtle dents on the front screen. I did add a new inner pop filter as the original was all but missing.

The mic is uni-directional and is great at cancelling out any background noise. Again...a superb mic for any live performance and worth every penny.

The mic comes with a stock AKG SA41 / 1 model mic clip that works very well for this mic and looks great. The clip grips the mic perfectly and really compliments the look of the mic. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand and has a wide range of tilt up or down.

The mic takes a standard XLR cable which is not provided but very easy to acquire. The XLR pins on this mic have been cleaned ensuring a perfect signal.

The original mic case is included and in excellent shape. The inner foam pad will keep the mic safe and snug while not in use and the top lid closes as it should. A great accessory for resale purposes as well.

MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

Overall I would rate this mic a 7 + cosmetically speaking on a scale of 1 - 10. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces and I would recommend actually using this piece rather than for display. She's got plenty of life left in her.

As with all my vintage microphone and related items...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. International buyers are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened and the item will be immediately relisted. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
