Radial Engineering J48 Mono Active 48v Direct Box

The Radial Engineering J48 is a premium active direct box designed for live concert touring and professional recording applications. Powered by 48V phantom power, the J48 delivers exceptional headroom, dynamic range, and pristine audio quality without distortion. Built to handle extreme transients and retain the natural sound of your instrument, the J48 ensures reliable performance on stage and in the studio.

Key Features:

• Exceptional Headroom: Handles up to 9 Volts, providing superior signal handling and dynamic range.
• Natural Sound Reproduction: Retains the tone and character of your instrument without distortion or coloration.
• Merge Switch: Sums stereo instrument signals to mono for simplified routing.
• Phantom Powered: Operates via 48V phantom power, eliminating the need for batteries.

Higher Rail Voltage, Higher Headroom

Unlike typical active direct boxes that handle only 3 Volts, the J48 features a unique switching power supply that raises the internal rail voltage to 9 Volts. This increased headroom reduces distortion and enhances signal integrity, ensuring the purest sound possible. The J48 excels at handling high-output instruments, making it ideal for professional live and studio applications.

Applications

• Live Touring: Transmits instrument signals from the stage to the mixing desk or PA system over long distances without distortion or noise, preserving the natural tone.
• Studio Recording: Ensures the purest signal when recording direct, making it particularly well-suited for bass guitars and direct guitar tracks.
• Reamping: Captures the original sound of the instrument for later Reamping, enabling dry tracks to be sent to pedals and amps for creative sound design.

The Radial Engineering J48 Mono Active 48v Direct Box is a reliable and high-performance solution for musicians and audio professionals. Its superior headroom, dynamic range, and ability to preserve the instrument's natural sound make it an essential tool for both live and studio use.
