An amazing MT2 Mandola from Collings with their full gloss nitrocellulose sunburst finish and Ivoroid bindings. Carved Adirondack Spruce top and Eastern Flamed Maple back, sides and neck combine on a 15.9″ scale build with a comfortable 1 5/16″ nut width. The big brother of the mandolin, the mandola or “mando grande” adds a low C below the G string tuning C-G-D-A low to high. A great complimentary instrument to any band arrangement and an easy transition for mandolin players. The shapes are the same but the chord names are a 4th higher. (A mandolin G chord becomes a C on the mandola, a D mandolin shape is a G on the mandola etc.) All the beauty of a mandolin with a deeper, throaty voice that sings in your hands.
