There is some Waylon Jennings in this one...

Here is what we know. It's a Matsumoku built Telecaster from the early to mid 1970s. It's slightly bigger, hippier and more robust than a Fender Tele. The neck is beautiful. The fretboard and frets are good. The tuners are original, the pups and electronics are original. The tailpiece seems original and looks to have had a wide, flat trem arm that has broken off. It needs a bridge. It needs to be re-wired. It's cool.

Here is what we think we know. It's very likely a Greco or an ELK with a swamp Ash body (yes!). It was modelled after Waylon Jennings' 1954 Telecaster. This was purchased by a local collector who knows his Japanese odd-balls and we are relying on his info. If you know more than we do - and many do - feel free to pipe up.
