Yamaha
Sc300t Samurai
1981

Here we have a really funky, all original Yamaha SC-300T in bright cherry red, . This is the 1981 reissue of The ‘Flying Samurai’ was a Yamaha original shape that debuted in 1967; they were made for five or so years before disappearing into the evening mist. In 1960s Japan, surf music was huge, so the local makers were doing all sorts of funky shapes and twangy tones. This one is in remarkable shape and still has the ever-elusive tremolo arm. The vibrant red finish looks amazing; it’s got minimalistic playwear for its 40+ years on planet earth. The neck is a tasty halfway house between a C and soft V shape; very comfy and slim with just enough meat to wrap your hand around comfortably. The crazy shape balances really well, as it’s very well weighted for either sitting or standing. Plugged in, she sounds great, she has the original untampered with electrics and single coils that have plenty of punchy attack, they carry a certain richness and delicacy through the mids, which mean that this cleans up beautifully. She is in perfect shape, and apart from just the decal cap missing from the tone knob, she is totally, originally intact. Her frets are excellent & her neck is arrow straight.

there is a small hairline fracture i just noticed but that doesn't seem to effect anything.

So if you’re wanting to deviate a little further off the beaten design path and you’re looking for pure originality, then grab yourself this retro Samurai perfect for low hung playing.
