The original owner this guitar was a student of Alirio Diaz, who loaned this guitar to Alirio Diaz for use at one of his concerts in 1973 at the Polytechnic University of Turin, or in Italian: Regio Politecnico di Torino.

Leone Sanavia was born in 1907. He lived first in Grenoble, then in Paris, where he learned the art of working fine wood as a restorer of fine furniture. Shortly before the Second World War he moved to Milan, and from there he returned to Liettoli to devote himself to his great passion: the construction of musical instruments, especially guitars. He had absolute ear for music, he was able even to tune a piano by ear! He produced guitars for artists such as Alirio Diaz, Bruno Battisti D’Amario, Mario Quattrocchi, Angelo Amato; he received public praise from the master Segovia. Artists such as Fausto Cigliano, Domenico Modugno, Mino Reitano and Claudio De Angelis also relied on his talent, just to name a few. The municipality of Liettoli had titled the main square after his name some years ago.
