Vintage 14" Unbranded Calfskin Drum Head 30's-40's

This is a vintage hand made 14" calf skin drum head from the 1930's or 1940's. These handmade heads have wood hoops that are also skin wrapped. This head is in good condition for being 80+ years old! There is a gauze and glue repair near the edge of the hoop as well as some small cracks in the skin where it is wrapped around the hoop. This gauze is in place to stop the further development of a crack in the head near the edge. These vintage drums tend to require a looser head tension so these small head fractures are not much of an issue particularly in a snare-side application. This head was used as a snare side head on a parade drum so the hoop shows a "memory" from the snare bed. This would be a perfect choice for a restoration project or collector.
