A 1977 Fender Telecaster Thinline has just arrived!!
This 1977 model features serial number S702245, neck date 0703~3871, pot date 1377551, and weighs 3.28 kg.
The Telecaster Thinline debuted in mid-1968 in response to the popularity of hollow-body electric guitars. It features an ash body with a chambered structure?including an F-hole on the 6th-string side?paired with a maple neck. Key features include a neck pocket that extends all the way to the front pickup cavity and a micro-tilt plate, which simplifies neck angle adjustment.
The pickups are the original humbucking pickups. The date stamped on the bridge pickup is 134277; while the stamping on the neck pickup is difficult to read, both are determined to be original 1977 models. The pot dates are 1377511 for the tone control; the volume pot (1MĦ) is not visible, but based on the solder and other characteristics, it is considered original. The capacitor is also original.
Replaced parts include the nut and frets. During the fret replacement, the neck was oversprayed and color-matched. The pickguard has a crack near the tone control. While there are scratches and dents commensurate with its age, playability?including the truss rod?is excellent.
This instrument features a Telecaster sound with a unique airy quality?we highly recommend considering this guitar.
