The original Fender Tube Reverb (model 6G15, 1961-1966) was reintroduced in 1976 in a Silverface version and produced until 1978 before being discontinued again. This 1970s version differs from the original circuit: it has four tubes instead of three, limiting the "tone suck" effect (loss of volume and treble when adjusting the wet/dry mix) that affected the original unit. Physically identical to a small amp head with its Dwell/Mixer/Tone controls and internal spring tank, this 1976 example is now sought after by collectors for its unique circuit, distinct from both the 1960s original and the modern reissue launched in 1994. This particular circuit has been overhauled by ToneSilk.
