Gretsch Dorado made in Japan

This guitar sounds deep and rich. Comes with new strings and is ready to go. Solid spruce top.

The stings are a little high past the 12th fret due to slight bridge tilt but it isn't horrible.

The Dorado 5970 is a vintage six-string acoustic guitar distributed by the Baldwin Piano and Organ Company under the Gretsch name during the early to mid-1970s. Manufactured in Japan’s legendary Matsumoko factory, these well-built instruments often feature a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard.

History and Origin

• The Era: Produced during the “import boom” of Japanese-made guitars, these instruments were heavily styled after famous Gibson and Martin models (such as the Hummingbird and D-28).
• The Brand: Though marketed as "Distributed by Gretsch," Dorado guitars were entirely separate from standard Gretsch factory production. They shared identical builds with other Matsumoko-exported brands like Aria, Epiphone, and Lyle, primarily differing by their headstock and logo.
