This “almost new” Walnut OME Juniper is a fine professional grade banjo. It has a bead brass ring, 14 hooks and nuts and Rickard 10:1 Cyclonic tuners
The Walnut neck has nice straight grain. Ebony peghead veneer, fingerboard and heelcap. The peghead has an OME pearl logo inlaid at top with an abalone floral spray in the center. Walnut wood truss rod cover above the bone nut. Gold hardware, including the Rickard Cyclonic 10:1 ratio tuners with matching black buttons.
The Ebony fingerboard has beautiful “Juniper” floral inlay pattern of a mixture of pearl and abalone inlays. F.B. has an S-scoop starting at 15th fret.
Light colored side dots are in the fingerboard edge for position markers. The back of neck profile is a soft “C”.

The walls of the 12″ Pot are Walnut, as well as the dowel stick. the bottom of the pot is blackened with tortoise binding at the corners, inside and out. All hardware is brass. Simple bead brass tone ring. 14 hooks and nuts. Ome one-pc tailpiece, handmade OME wooden armrest. Currently set-up with Renaissance Head & OME vintage bridge.

This American made gem is an extremely well-made banjo that feels great and has a lovely voice. Fans were used to getting these wonderful OME banjos coming out of Colorado for the last 50 or so years… but for the last couple of years they have been manufactured in Titusville, FL. Usually, when an instrument maker changes hands consumers “hold their breath” to see how the newer versions will compare to the previous product. Don’t worry, the crew a Gold Tone has knuckled-down and produces the same high quality instruments as before.
