Universal's UAFX series brings together the best in digital effects pedals. The algorithms, the secret of which is held only by the brand, are exceptionally musical. They are modeled after the gear every guitarist dreams of since they first laid their fingers on a six-string (or seven, or eight…), as is the case with the Del Verb.
This attractive blue box, equipped with stereo inputs and outputs, features three stereo reverb algorithms from UAD's Golden Reverberator, no less, as well as three stereo delay algorithms directly borrowed from the Starlight. On the reverb side, you get a choice of spring and tube reverb algorithms, an EMT 140-style plate reverb, and a digital reverb modeled after a late 70s Lexicon. For delay, you can choose between the Tape EP-III, Analog DMM, and Precision algorithms. The first perfectly reproduces the sound and warmth of a 60s Echoplex delay, the second generates a wonderful Bucket Brigade delay sound, and the last produces a very clean, precise, and warm studio delay tone.
To adjust the reverb, there are Mix, Reverb, and Mod controls. You can, in fact, add a touch of modulation to the reverb if desired. For delay, there are classic controls: Delay Time, Feedback, Color, and Mod. Since the pedal is equipped with stereo inputs and outputs, it incorporates two separate engines, allowing you to create very unique three-dimensional soundscapes. It works with the UAFX Control app, which offers complete control over the reverb, delay, and overall pedal settings.
