This is a sweet vintage amp project for someone with a basic aptitude for amp repair and a desire to rock a unique old tube rig that stands apart from the herd of Fender Champs and Silvertone 1481s. These make fun guitar or harp amps when working properly and they have a really distinctive look.
This Webcor 166-1 works, but is currently in pieces and in need of some TLC. The amp passes sound, but output is fuzzy and distorted. It may be as simple as old caps, or something more--I have too many projects and not enough time, so I'm hoping to move this on to someone who'll have fun getting it back on track. All tubes are included. The circuit is all original and the inside of the chassis is clean. The cab needs some tolex regluing on the bottom edge and a repair for the black decorative cord as pictured, and the tolex on the bottom is worn away. The original speaker is present and working.
The chassis will be remounted in the cab for shipping. Also included is a special adapter cord for the weird 6-pin input jack, so that a regular 1/4" cable can be used to plug in.
